Hello. This is my story.
Tom Afton has been a conference interpreter since 1987. A graduate of ESIT (École Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs–Université de Paris III), Tom has taught at ESIT, ISIT (Institut Catholique de Paris), GIIT (Shanghai International Studies University), the Cambridge Conference Interpretation Course, and elsewhere; he also served as Academic Director at GSIT (University of Maryland, College Park).
Tom is presently a freelance conference interpreter (EN – A FR – B DE/ES/IT – C) based in Paris, working mainly for international organizations, and has also worked as a staff interpreter and as Head of Language and Conference Services at OECD (Paris).
Tom is a member of AIIC.
